You may have heard, there’s a new market in the region: the Juniata Farmers Market!

Located at North 4th Avenue & North 6th Street in Altoona, PA the market kicked off it’s first season on June 7th and will be going strong every Thursday from 3:00-6:00 PM until the end of November!

Below are descriptions of some of the vendors, stop by the market and see what they are offering this week!

Bee Kind Winery is a family owned business nestled comfortably along side the Susquehanna River in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds (Clearfield County). They are focused on creating great tasting balanced wines that are affordable yet unique and offer an array of wines that range from dry reds and whites to fruity dessert wines.

Berglorbeer Farma is a home-based agricultural and sustainable living business atop 3 acres in the mountains of Windber, PA.  Run by David and Kristin Sewak, they grow heirloom vegetables, herbs, eggs, mushrooms, and native landscape plants using organic methods.

Clover Creek Cheese Cellar is run by the Rice family and based on the 126 acre Ojala Farm in beautiful Morrison’s Cove, Blair County.  Their dairy operation is grass based, which means that the cows are outside in the fresh air, eating grass and other fresh plants all summer; in the winter they eat hay and some grain. Clover Creek Cheese Cellar offers a selection of raw milk cheeses as well as grass fed beef, eggs, and raw milk.

D n’ D Farms is owned and operated by Derrick and Dessie Carpenter of Blair County, PA. Their mission is to provide a healthy, natural, humanly raised product as an alternative for the local customer base. Their product lineup includes beef, pork, chicken, lamb, goat, veal, eggs, turkey, vegetables, and soap & lotion products.

Michael Friday Farms is owned by its namesake and is located in lovely Tyrone, PA.  They offer a variety of locally grown produce, ranging from asparagus to zucchini.  Alongside produce offerings they also offer hanging baskets, potted plants, gourds, corn stalks, and eggs!

Sun & Moon Creations is owned by Tammy Wolfe of Blair County, PA. In an effort to offer the highest quality products that are safe, gentle, nourishing, and beneficial to the skin, she makes soap the old-fashioned way, using all natural products, including organic oils, butters, essential oils and lye. Tammy offers soap, lip balm, bath salts, hand and foot butter, bug spray, and soy candles.

Stay tuned for more updates and info on the Juniata Farmers Market as the season progresses!
